Congratulations on choosing Glasgow as a city to visit. Whether it is your first time or you’ve been several times to our charming, vibrant, wild, historic city, one thing is for sure, change is inevitable. With that in mind, if you want to keep up to date with what’s happening in Glasgow, where to go, places to eat and even how to get a taxi from A to B, have a look at some travel apps you may find useful, before and during your stay with us at Charing Cross
We’ve chosen these three very useful apps to make travelling a stress-free experience for you
GLASGOW LIVE APP
The Glasgow live app was updated in 2019 and is available on both Apple and Android phones. The app will literally ping your phone with any and all updates from traffic information to breaking news, and even more useful such as What’s on and where to eat or drink nearby. Glasgow will be literally in your pocket on this app, and is free to download. You are of course always welcome to ask us anything on check-in at the Charing Cross Guesthouse Glasgow, but this app just may just have the upper hand on the volume of answers it can provide!
VISIT SCOTLAND
Yes, it may be an obvious one however, we are often asked by our guests about good day trips to take from Glasgow. The Visit Scotland app will tantalise you with day trip ideas including trips to the lowlands, filming locations, adventure centres, and a plethora of other very useful tourist information. If you are opting for day trips from Glasgow, here at the Charing Cross Bed & Breakfast we will always try to accommodate a breakfast time to suit your plans, where possible.
GLASGOW WALKING TOURS / GLASGOW CITY PASS
A new and exciting app just launched is ideal for Glaswegians and visitors to see Glasgow in a different light and still fitting in those important daily steps! This story telling app has been developed to support the city’s recovering tourism sector, and most especially the guides who have been involved in the project. Included in the tour are dark histories of Glasgow’s past, stories of female Glasgow icons and so much more.
The app uses GPS technology and provides a gateway to Glasgow through five audio tours that signpost users across the city.
Travel in the 21st century is always going to be in a state of change but the welcome you receive at Charing Cross Bed & Breakfast in Glasgow will always be a constant.
