Sauchiehall Street is amongst the most popular nightlife hot spots in the city, the long road is crammed with pubs, clubs and restaurants. It features a wide range of fashionable bars, notable favourites include Bar Buddha, Campus (also a club), Driftwood, Firewater and many others. However areas such as Bath Street and others situated nearby also feature a wonderful selection of bars and although Sauchiehall Street is amongst the most popular, almost every street in the city centre is crammed with bars. The Club scene in Glasgow is fantastic, with new clubs consistently being added to the already large number throughout the city. Sauchiehall Street boasts such favourites as Campus, Blanket, Destiny and extremely popular Garage. Royal Exhange Square and nearby streets feauture popular venus such as Mas, B'lo, Cathouse and The Tunnel. Many more are spread across the city centre including Bamboo, Archaos and Cube. All tastes and musical preferences are accounted for within these clubs, with hard house/dance fans usually opting for such clubs as The Arches, Archaos and Destiny whereas those who prefer hip hop and R 'n' B - Blanket, G2 (part of The Garage) , The Tunnel and Cube. Visitors into hard rock and metal may prefer the likes of the Cathouse whereas those indifferent to musical preference may enjoy the variety of floors and music available in clubs like Campus and The Garage however, will have no trouble enjoying any of the other clubs. With a large and vibrant gay community, the city centre features a number of gay bar and nightclubs as well as many clubs featuring their own gay night once a week. Popular venues include The Polo Lounge, Moda, Delmonicas and the Revolver Bar, many of which are within the Merchant City Area. |
