Although many have closed down, some up to 70 years after the initial opening, Glasgow boasts many cinema complexes offering a range of genres, from all the latest Hollywood block busters, to foreign and classic masterpieces. Amongst these is the UK's most critically and commercially successful art house cinema - The Glasgow Film Theatre, showing a range of contemporary artistic, foreign, cult and classic film.
